Chair Pose
Utkatasana
Chair is a stabilization pose that strengthens core, glutes, legs, and back.
How to execute: From a standing position lower your pelvis as if you are sitting into a chair. Keep drawing your abdomen in towards spine to avoid curve in and to protect your lower back. Keep knees parallel to each other. Be sure you can see your toes over your knees, keeping your weight in your heels. Arms can be extended out straight or above your head.
Modification: can be done against a wall or supine (lying on your back). Variation: once in chair pose, rise up onto balls of feet...and breathe!
Dave is now on the west coast. He will be starting his ride back east on April 22nd. Thank you to everyone that bought raffle tickets to support Dave's ride and the National MS Society, we raised $1,116. Congratulations to all the raffle winners!
